I still cannot believe how we wound up at Camp Kinder Ring. When I share our story, most people can't believe it. I mean who signs their child up for camp the day that camp is starting?? We did! He was originally enrolled at a different camp and we had gotten a call that there were no boys his age starting camp the same time we planned on sending our son. I mean how is that even possible? The options that were offered were not even a remote possibility. So, what to do? The only other camp that my son had seen was Kinder Ring. So, I called camp.

Making that phone call was definitely nerve-racking. But Jessica, who remembered us from when we toured the camp with our daughter, said "OH MY GOSH! SERIOUSLY? Let me just make sure we have a bed."
And the rest is history.

My son just finished his 3rd summer at Camp Kinder Ring. He was there the entire 7 weeks. It is honestly the most special place. I look at pictures, watch my son with his friends, even looking at pictures of kids I don't know, everyone has a smile and the emotion on their faces is genuine and real. I read the most beautifully descriptive emails from Mark, and I close my eyes and dream. I dream that this place should get to be experienced by as many kids as possible. My son already told me "I will be at camp til I am a grown up." In my humble opinion, there is not a thing that this camp doesn't get right. For us, its his home away from home and while he is there, my heart just smiles!

On September 22, 2019, I will be riding as part of the Camp Kinder Ring team and participating in Tour de Summer Camps NJ, a family-friendly cycling event that raises funds for One Happy Camper incentive grants and need-based scholarships to Jewish overnight camps. These "camperships" make it possible for more young people to access the enriching, life-changing experience of Jewish camp. Extensive studies have shown that summers spent at Jewish overnight camp empower Jewish children to become spirited and engaged Jewish adults, thereby laying the groundwork for strong, vibrant Jewish communities. Many of us have experienced firsthand the transformative power of those summers away. The Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest is committed to investing in the future of our Jewish community by helping to make Jewish camping affordable and accessible for all families. I've set an ambitious fundraising goal so that more kids can attend camp, and I need your help to achieve it! Thank you for your support!

100% of dollars raised will go directly to camp grants and scholarships. Together, we can make a difference! I am so proud to be riding as part of Camp Kinder Rings team. I hope you will consider a donation to help enrich the lives of other Jewish children.
